IAS has a long history of successful implementations with both public and private institutions. Both faculty and students expect a safe academic environment and the Cleary Act now provides access to crime statistics for the entire campus area. Most prudent universities now find it important to utilize electronic access control and video surveillance systems to protect the academic and residential life areas of the campus. Due to the recent increase of violent crimes on university campuses, Mass Notification Systems have become an important piece of the overall security solution. The recently signed "Durbin Bill" (S.2043 Mass Evacuation Exercise Assistance Act of 2005) offers funding for MNS for colleges, universities and schools.
